There's all sorts of approaches that can be discussed when photographing an event, or subject matter new and unfamiliar. More often than not with these self-assignments, I find myself just letting go. The one camera one lens philosophy in this discussion, as it is generally accepted as a means of slowing down, reading the subject, and patiently waiting for a moment to appear before the lens was fairly strictly obeyed.
That being said, I've never photographed bull riding, a rodeo, barrel racing, or muttin' bustin'. I think this gallery speaks for itself. I had an absolute blast on this assignment, and once again owe great thanks to my good friend and fellow photojournalist, Rami, for the continual support.
Thanks for looking!
